A separate laundry room in an apartment or house is a dream for many people. With such a specially designated place, you can conveniently wash things, as well as store detergents and some textiles.
If you are preparing to arrange this place, it is worthwhile to properly plan the shelves and the space for the washer and dryer, then you will make full use of it, and on top of that it will be really aesthetically pleasing. So how to store things in the laundry room?
Let’s start with the fact that a properly arranged laundry room really gives you a lot of possibilities. Even if the space that is designated for it is not very large. To make it functional, it is important to take care, first of all, of the place for a washing machine and automatic dryer. Necessarily in the version of two separate household appliances. As a rule, 2-in-1 machines are not very durable, and often tend to be defective.
On top of that, the laundry room should also have space for storing laundry detergents. Preferably in larger quantities. Quite a few people take advantage of promotions and buy, for example, 4 large liquids that need to be set somewhere later. Depending on whether you use laundry nuts or perhaps capsules, they should be placed quite high, out of reach of children and pets.
But that’s not all, a well-arranged space also provides for a place for textiles, such as towels or bedding, which would be good to have their own separate shelves. This way, you will always be able to pull them out when needed, without searching through the closet. It’s also a good idea to find a narrow place for an ironing board. Many people construct their closets in such a way that they additionally have one closed but long space where the board is just located. And don’t forget the iron, which you can simply set conveniently on a shelf. The most important thing is to have everything at hand.
The laundry room is a place that must be characterized by functionality. Therefore, it is best to already plan out the arrangement of the various items. Let’s start with the washing machine and dryer. It is worth using built-in furniture, which will allow you to put all the things in order. So you can place household appliances one on top of the other. In order to make them stable, they are attached to a special dividing shelf, so that during operation none of them will fall off. In the next cabinet, place shelves, preferably from the very top, but of different sizes, so that you can also place tall and large bottles of fabric softener and fabric softener in them. It’s also worth using baskets in which you can store laundry nuts or capsules. Remember, however, not to take them out of their packaging and keep them away from children.
Such an arrangement will bring harmony to the place, and on top of that, you will be able to use the washing machine comfortably. However, don’t forget the laundry basket. You can also hide this one in the cabinet. In this case you have two alternatives, either buy a cabinet with a measured basket, or fit your own garbage can to it. If you have enough space, you can also set up two bins, one for dark and the other for light-colored clothes.
On the opposite side, take care of the shelves where you can put bedding, towels and other textiles. On top of that, next to it there will certainly be a place for an ironing board. Thanks to such an arrangement of the laundry room, you will be able to use it comfortably, and on top of that things will not get dusty, because they will be hidden in the closet.
